Glowing with an electric play-of-colour, this Arts and Crafts ring showcases a 2.60ct solid Black Opal in rich 9ct Gold. The high-domed oval cabochon shimmers violet-blue with vivid flashes of green, captured in a protective bezel framed by an applied twisted-rope border. Black Opal measures 15mm long x 9mm wide, weighing approx. 2.60ct.
Band is 3.5mm wide at the back.

MATERIALS: Tests as 9ct Gold, Solid Natural Black Opal (2.60ct).

STAMPS: 9c on outer band.

HALLMARKS: Since we have dated this piece as being made before 1950, a hallmark is not required in order for it to be sold in line with UK hallmarking legislation.

EXCELLENT: The 2.60ct Black Opal is secure with bright, lively play of colour and only minor surface abrasions visible under close inspection. The 9ct Gold bezel, rope border, and pierced shoulders are crisp with light surface wear and fine scratches commensurate with age; the split, triple-wire shank is sturdy and in round. No obvious chips, cracks, losses, repairs, or resizing marks.
